Tri Fitness

I would like to propose an entirely new fitness class called Tri Fitness lead by myself.

I have a background as a sports/physical therapist, health coach & fitness trainer.

The name Tri Fitness comes from applying training to develop and condition muscles used when running, cycling & swimming but it is not limited solely to these activities.

The main aims of the class are to improve functional fitness: Functional fitness is real world fitness, training development in class can be applied to anything not just the recognised Tri sports. This includes hiking, climbing, skiing, kayaking, combat, surfing, you name it anything that involves applying the key elements of fitness to real world uses can be enhanced with these classes.

How does it work? Starting from training the centre of the body outwards focusing mainly on trunk strength, the core, glutes & upper leg sections as well developing outward from the core to the upper back, arms & feet. We train the key elements of fitness which are strength, endurance, power, flexibility, balance agility and speed. Sessions are varied and the whole body will be trained for the vast majority of the 1 hour’s workout.

My career as sports therapist means technique analysis is an essential focus of mine to help you maximise your training. Classes will usually use a range of free weights & resistance equipment such as dumbbells, medicine balls, resistance bands, steps as well as body weight resistance training.

I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to get functionally fit especially those who already enjoy a fitness-based activity. Sessions are appropriate from beginners through to experienced athletes, everyone is welcomed and included. These sessions will be challenging, as with any exercise development you will get out what you put in.
